The Kansas State University Wildcats football team is a Big 12, NCAA Division-I, Northern Division college football team that plays in Manhattan, Kansas under the direction of head coach Bill Snyder. Coach Snyder has worked for the Kansas State Wildcats for 19 seasons and the football team plays their home games in the Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The Bill Snyder Family Stadium seating chart can hold 52,200 and was named after the beloved head coach in 2005 after he retired. Snyder will return to the head coach position in 2009.
Post-season play is common for the Kansas State University Wildcats, including a 2006 appearance in the Texas Bowl and a 2004 appearance in the Fiesta Bowl. In total the Kansas State Wildcats 13 bowl games including a consecutive 11 bowl-game run from 1993 to 2003. Not only does the team play well together, three Kansas State Wildcats players have been honored with the Heisman Trophy and several have been drafted into the NFL. The two teams compete annually for the Governor's Cup during this match-up.
