Corey Joseph Gibas was born in Covina, California on July 7, 1988. While attending Charter Oak High School, Corey Gibas was listed among the top 12 long snappers at the 2006 Chris Sailer Kicking Competition.

In 2006, Corey Gibas joined the Texas A&M football program where he became a rare out of state recruit. As a freshman #52 was the long snapping specialist on the Aggies punt team. Corey Gibas made three tackles that Aggies football season on special teams coverage. In 2007, the 5’11” 254 lbs player was a reliable long snapper for the Texas A and M punt team. Again in 2008 Corey Gibas was a strong member on the punt team as a long snapper.
