Cyrus Danall Gray was raised in DeSoto, Texas on November 18, 1989. During Cyrus Grays senior year at DeSoto High School he rushed for 1,975 yards and made 28 touchdowns. In his junior year Cyrus Gray ran for 1,482 yards and made 31 touchdowns. Cyrus Gray received many honors which included honorable mention 5A All-State quarterback from Associated Press and Texas Sports Writer’s Association, Dallas Morning News first-team all-area and was a member of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Super Team.

As a freshman at Texas A&M, Cyrus Gray primarily played as a running back but also saw a little time at slot receiver and quarterback. The 5’10” 188 lbs running back carried the ball 75 times for 363 yards. Cyrus Gray set a Texas A&M record for having 1,169 kickoff returns. #32 also led the team and set a Texas A&M freshman record with 1,592 all-purpose yards. Cyrus Gray was named Big 12 Special Team Player of the Week when the Aggies played against the Sooners. Cyrus Gray also earned second-team All Big 12 honors from the San Antonio Express-News.
