Jameson "Lee" Grimes was raised in Brownwood, Texas on January 28, 1987. Lee Grimes attended Brownwood High School where he was a three year starter and two-time all-district selection. Lee Grimes also earned first-team Class 4A all-state honors from the Associated Press and the Texas Sports Writers Association. As a senior the 6’6” 339 lbs offensive lineman posted 47 “pancake” blocks.

In 2005, Lee Grimes was redshirted on the Texas A&M football team. In 2007, #74 only played in one game for the Auggies. In 2008, Lee Grimes started in all 12 games.
